As an Association, we got the opportunity to produce 2 tangible outputs for World Refugee Day through a project made possible by “Together Moving Forward” For the theme of this year, the aim of the project was to create an awareness and orientation about the lack of access to higher education most refugees in different countries around the world faced.

Theme: Refugees usually have challenges/limitations in accessing higher education. With only 3% of the refugee population having access to Higher Education in the world, what can students, youths and youth groups do to support the objective of the UNHCR to reach 15% by 2030?
To foster the theme of this year, we created a video with the help of the Youth Compact Champions, as well as the African Media Association in Malta. We also compiled a short guidelines report (translated both in English and Italian) from surveys taken in Milan, Parma and Modena on the challenges refugees faced in accessing higher education here in Italy, our key findings and recommendations. Organisations both in the migration and educational sector can make good use of this document for creating or implementing projects tailored towards refugees.
